Septic estimate and invoice templates

Septic pumping is priced by tank size, with locating, digging and repairs as extras. These spreadsheets come set up for that, with working totals, tax and deposit, and an example septic pumping and inspection to start from.

Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

What's in the template

The example line items for a septic pumping and inspection. Prices are illustrative only; replace them with your own.

The spreadsheet adds sales tax on lines marked Y once you enter your rate, and has spare rows for more items.

How to use it

  1. 1Download the template. Download the septic estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
  2. 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
  3. 3Replace the example lines. The example is a septic pumping and inspection. Septic pumping is priced by tank size, with locating, digging and repairs as extras. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
  4. 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example collects none, so the balance equals the total).
  5. 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.

Tips for septic estimates

  • Note tank size and last pump date in the job title; it helps set the next service date.
  • Show digging per lid; it's the main variable between properties.
  • Recommend a riser on the estimate when lids are deep, with its own line.

Septic terms included

  • Disposal is at a licensed facility; disposal fees are included in the pumping price.
  • Inspection covers visible components only and is not a guarantee of drain field condition.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Septic template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

How do I price larger tanks?

A base price up to a set size plus a per-gallon line, as in the example, covers any tank.

Can this be used for real estate inspections?

As the invoice, yes. Many states require a specific inspection form for property transfers, so attach that separately.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
