Garage door estimate and invoice templates

Garage door work is flat-rate per part and service, plus a trip charge on service calls. These spreadsheets come set up for that, with working totals, tax and deposit, and an example torsion spring replacement and tune-up to start from.

Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

What's in the template

The example line items for a torsion spring replacement and tune-up. Prices are illustrative only; replace them with your own.

The spreadsheet adds sales tax on lines marked Y once you enter your rate, and has spare rows for more items.

How to use it

  1. 1Download the template. Download the garage door estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
  2. 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
  3. 3Replace the example lines. The example is a torsion spring replacement and tune-up. Garage door work is flat-rate per part and service, plus a trip charge on service calls. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
  4. 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example collects none, so the balance equals the total).
  5. 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.

Tips for garage door estimates

  • Quote springs as a pair even when one is broken; the line description is a good place to explain why.
  • Keep the service call line on the invoice even when you waive it, with a $0 rate, so the customer sees the value.
  • For door replacements, swap the parts lines for door model, track and opener lines.

Garage door terms included

  • Spring warranty applies to the springs installed and is stated on the invoice by cycle rating.
  • Openers and door panels not listed here are not included.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Garage door template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

Should I charge the service call if they buy the repair?

That's a pricing choice. Many shops waive it; if you do, keep the line and set the rate to 0 so the waived value is visible.

How do I add an opener option?

Copy the sheet and add the opener as a line. Showing two totals side by side tends to sell better than one long estimate.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
