Restoration estimate and invoice templates
Mitigation is billed by the unit-day for equipment plus labor and materials, usually to match the insurer's line items. These spreadsheets come set up for that, with working totals, tax and deposit, and an example category 2 water loss, kitchen and hallway to start from.
Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

How to use it
- 1Download the template. Download the restoration estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
- 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
- 3Replace the example lines. The example is a category 2 water loss, kitchen and hallway. Mitigation is billed by the unit-day for equipment plus labor and materials, usually to match the insurer's line items. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
- 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example collects none, so the balance equals the total).
- 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.
Tips for restoration estimates
- Enter equipment as unit-days (units × days) so the invoice can be trued up to the actual drying log.
- Use the same item names your estimating platform uses so adjusters can match lines quickly.
- Set the deposit cell to the deductible if you collect it at the start.
Restoration terms included
- The customer is responsible for any amount not paid by their insurer, including the deductible.
- Drying continues until materials reach a dry standard; equipment days on the invoice reflect actual days on site.
Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.
FAQ
Restoration template questions
Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.
Can I send this to an insurance adjuster?
Yes, as a summary. Many carriers require their own estimating format, so treat this as the customer-facing invoice and attach the drying log.
How do I bill the deductible?
Put the deductible amount in the deposit cell. The balance line then shows what you'll bill the carrier.
Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?
Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
