Flooring estimate and invoice templates

Flooring is priced per square foot installed, with removal, subfloor prep and transitions extra. These spreadsheets come set up for that, with working totals, tax and deposit, and an example lvp install, living room and kitchen to start from.

Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

How to use it

  1. 1Download the template. Download the flooring estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
  2. 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
  3. 3Replace the example lines. The example is a lvp install, living room and kitchen. Flooring is priced per square foot installed, with removal, subfloor prep and transitions extra. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
  4. 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example uses 50%).
  5. 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.

Tips for flooring estimates

  • Material square footage includes waste; installation uses the measured area. Keep both visible.
  • Bill leveling by bag so the invoice can reflect what was actually needed.
  • Add a line for stairs if needed; they're usually priced per step.

Flooring terms included

  • Material quantity includes waste for cuts; leftover boxes stay with the homeowner.
  • Subfloor conditions are confirmed after removal; leveling is billed by bag used.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Flooring template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

How much waste should I add?

It depends on the product and layout; diagonal and herringbone patterns need more. Follow the manufacturer's installation guide, and say in the description what's included.

Why 50% deposit?

Flooring material is often special-ordered. Adjust the deposit cell to match your policy and state rules.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
