Drywall estimate and invoice templates

Drywall is priced per sheet or per square foot hung and finished, with texture and paint as add-ons. These spreadsheets come set up for that, with working totals, tax and deposit, and an example water-damaged ceiling replacement to start from.

Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

What's in the template

The spreadsheet adds sales tax on lines marked Y once you enter your rate, and has spare rows for more items.

How to use it

  1. 1Download the template. Download the drywall estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
  2. 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
  3. 3Replace the example lines. The example is a water-damaged ceiling replacement. Drywall is priced per sheet or per square foot hung and finished, with texture and paint as add-ons. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
  4. 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example uses 25%).
  5. 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.

Tips for drywall estimates

  • Count sheets for hanging and square feet for finishing. The units differ for a reason.
  • State the finish level (GA-214 levels 0-5) in the description so expectations match.
  • Add a line for the return trip if paint is done on a separate visit.

Drywall terms included

  • Texture match is as close as practical; exact matches to aged texture aren't guaranteed.
  • Dust control is set up, but some fine dust is unavoidable during sanding.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Drywall template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

What finish level should I quote?

Level 4 is common for painted walls with flat or eggshell paint; level 5 is for critical lighting and glossy finishes. Name it on the estimate.

How do I handle texture matching?

Price it as its own line and say in Terms that an exact match isn't guaranteed.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
