Roofing estimate and invoice templates

Free, no sign-up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.

How to use it

  1. 1Download the template. Download the roofing estimate or invoice (.xlsx). It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Apple Numbers.
  2. 2Add your company and customer. Fill in the shaded company, customer and service-address cells, and set the document number and date.
  3. 3Replace the example lines. The example is a architectural shingle re-roof, 28 squares. Roofs are priced per square (100 sq ft) with tear-off, decking and flashing as their own lines. Change the items, quantities and unit prices to your own; line totals and the subtotal update automatically.
  4. 4Set tax and deposit. Mark each line taxable (Y) or not (N), enter your sales tax rate, and set the deposit percent (the example uses 33%).
  5. 5Review terms and send. Edit the terms to match your policies, save a copy for the customer, and export to PDF to send.

Tips for roofing estimates

  • Measure in squares and let the quantity column carry it; the line totals update for any roof size.
  • Keep decking as a per-sheet allowance so the invoice can show the actual count found.
  • If the job is an insurance claim, match your line names to the adjuster's scope so they're easy to reconcile.

Roofing terms included

  • Decking replacement is billed per sheet at the rate shown, only for sheets found damaged after tear-off.
  • Work is weather dependent; start dates may move for rain or high wind.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Roofing template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

How should I show waste factor?

Include waste in the squares you enter, or add a line for it. Either way, say on the estimate how the square count was measured.

Can I use this for insurance work?

Yes. Rename the lines to match the carrier's estimate, and use the deposit cell for the first ACV check if that is how you collect.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
