Tips for fencing estimates

  • Enter linear feet as measured; the line totals do the rest.
  • Quote gates as separate lines. Customers often add or remove them.
  • If an HOA has to approve the fence, mention it in Terms.

Fencing terms included

  • The property owner is responsible for identifying property lines; a survey is recommended.
  • Rock or roots found when digging post holes may add cost, quoted before proceeding.

Plus standard validity and payment terms. Edit all of them to match your policies and local law.

FAQ

Fencing template questions

Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.

Who is responsible for property lines?

Usually the owner. Saying so in Terms, as the example does, protects you if a neighbor disputes the line.

How do I show different styles?

Duplicate the sheet per style and change the main line's description and rate.

Do the formulas work in Google Sheets?

Yes. The line totals, subtotal, taxable amount, tax, deposit and balance use standard functions (SUM, SUMIF, ROUND, IF) that work in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
