How long should a workmanship warranty be?
One year is common for repairs and service work; longer for installs and roofing. Some states set minimum warranties for new home construction, so check yours.
Does my warranty replace the manufacturer's warranty?
No. Your warranty covers your labor and workmanship. Equipment and materials carry the manufacturer's warranty, which you can register for the customer.
Should I exclude anything?
Common exclusions are misuse, accidents, weather events, lack of maintenance and work by others. Be specific so customers know where they stand.
