Cookie notice

This notice lists the cookies and similar technologies used on our website and in the Homeforce app, what each one is for, and how to control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and tracking pixels, work in much the same way. We call all of these "cookies" here.

2. On our website (tryhomeforce.com)

NameProviderPurposeHow long
hf_regionHomeforceRemembers whether your region requires us to ask before using analytics, so the cookie banner shows when it should. Needed for the site to work properly.30 days
hf_consent (local storage)HomeforceRemembers whether you chose Accept or Decline.Until you clear it
_ga, _ga_*Google AnalyticsAnalytics: counts visits and shows how people use the site.Up to 2 years
ph_* (cookie and local storage)PostHogAnalytics: how people use the site and where sign-ups come from.Up to 1 year
_fbp, _fbcMetaAd measurement on our ad landing pages only: tells us whether our ads lead to sign-ups.Up to 90 days

Your choice. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and ad measurement stay off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Elsewhere they're on by default. Anywhere, you can choose Cookie settings in the site footer and pick Decline to turn them off. Declining stops analytics and ad measurement; cookies they already set stay until they expire or you clear them. If you decline before they load, PostHog keeps nothing in your browser and Google Analytics doesn't set cookies. We don't use cookies for ad personalization in Google Analytics.

3. In the Homeforce app (app.tryhomeforce.com)

The app uses only first-party cookies that it needs to work. They're HTTP-only, so page scripts can't read them.

NamePurposeHow long
wh_sessionKeeps you signed in30 days (1 hour during a support session)
wh_hq_returnReturns you to your own session after Homeforce support has looked at your account2 hours
hf_google_oauthProtects the Sign in with Google step10 minutes
hf_portal_previewLets office staff preview a customer's portal read-only2 hours

The app also uses local storage for preferences such as your theme, notification setting and dictation language, and the chat widget on a business's website stores a random visitor ID so the conversation continues if you reload.

In the signed-in office app, we use PostHog to understand which features are used, including session recordings that hide all text, typed input and images. Pages customers see, such as payment links, portals, booking forms and chat, don't load analytics.

The mobile app doesn't use cookies; it keeps your sign-in in your phone's secure storage.

4. Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block cookies the app needs, you won't be able to stay signed in. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
