How it works
How gPS fleet tracking works in Homeforce
Locations come from the truck or the tech's phone and flow straight into dispatch, notifications, and reporting.
Live map
See the whole fleet at a glance.
Every truck shows on the dispatch map with its tech, current job, and status. Click a truck to see where it's been today and where it's headed next — no calling around.
Customer updates
ETAs based on where the truck actually is.
On-my-way texts use the truck's live position and traffic, not the arrival window. Customers can open a link to watch the tech approach, so they're home and the dog is put away.
Automatic status
Arrivals and departures logged on their own.
Geofences around each job site mark a tech on site when the truck pulls up and complete the drive leg when it leaves. Time-on-site is accurate even when nobody taps a button.
Fleet reports
Find the hours hiding in windshield time.
Drive time, idle time, after-hours use, and mileage by truck and by tech. Spot the routes that cost you a job a day and the trucks that sit idling at lunch.
What it can look like
Illustrative example: an 8-truck HVAC and plumbing shop that dispatches by phone calls today
- trucks visible on one map instead of eight phone calls to find them
- 8trucks visible on one map instead of eight phone calls to find them
- saved per tech per day if the closest qualified tech takes each call
- ~25 minsaved per tech per day if the closest qualified tech takes each call
- of on-my-way texts sent with a live ETA instead of a two-hour window
- 100%of on-my-way texts sent with a live ETA instead of a two-hour window
- for mileage, idle, and after-hours use across the whole fleet
- 1 reportfor mileage, idle, and after-hours use across the whole fleet
Illustrative example for planning purposes, not a reported customer result. Your outcomes depend on your team, market, and setup.

FAQ
GPS fleet tracking questions, answered.
Have a question we didn't cover? Book a demo and ask a product specialist.
Do I need hardware in every truck?
No. Homeforce can track location from the technician's phone through the mobile app. If you prefer, plug-in vehicle trackers give you location even when the phone is off.
Can customers see where the tech is?
Yes. On-my-way texts can include a live tracking link that shows the tech's approach and updated ETA. The link expires when the job starts.
Is technicians' location tracked after hours?
Phone-based tracking follows the tech's clock-in status, so it stops when they clock out. Vehicle trackers report the truck itself, and you choose who can see after-hours activity.
How does GPS help with dispatch?
The dispatch board shows drive time from every tech's live location to the job, and AI dispatch uses it to recommend the closest qualified tech.
What fleet reports are included?
Mileage, drive time, idle time, time on site, and after-hours use, filterable by truck, tech, and date range. Reports export to CSV.
